In addition to in-bound and out-bound exchanges, Friendship Force of Central North Carolina plans other varied activities throughout the year such as LEO's (Let's Eat Out) to local ethnic restaurants, speakers, and day trips to nearby places of interest.  Below are highlights of some of these events.

Virginia Day Trip
May 20, 2008

D-Day Memorial and Smith Mountain Lake

Our excursion to Virginia included a pleasant pontoon boat ride on Smith Mountain Lake and a visit to Booker T. Washington’s birthplace farm.  Lunch and dinner were rich with camaraderie.  But the D-Day Memorial had a huge impact on everyone.  It has been created with such care, every detail is meaningful and portrays the WWII invasion in poignant ways.  Click here to see our photo album.

Lake Norman Picnic
August 14, 2010

Our guests from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were the highlight of our annual picnic at Marilyn B.'s home on Lake Norman.  Participants in the US State Deparment's International Visitors Leadership program, they were visiting the U. S. to learn more about international adoptions with the goal of improving this process in their homelands.  Click here to see our photo album.
